      Mr. David Crowe

I spent the majority of my childhood in Borger, Texas and graduated from Borger High School. Borger is sandwiched between Oklahoma and New Mexico where the first oil well in the Texas Panhandle was drilled back in 1921.  Borger was very much a “Friday Night Lights” kind of town where football was king. I have a real passion for athletics having played football, basketball, and track during my time in high school and football for one year at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.

I am a graduate of Borger High School, Hardin-Simmons University, and UTSA. I am married to my wife, Cynthia, and we have 2 children. Both of my children attend NEISD schools and participated in NEISD Dual Language programs at Bradley MS and Coker ES.

My educational career began in 1994 in Eagle Pass, TX as a science teacher and coach at both the junior high and high school levels.  I moved to San Antonio in 2000 and started off in NEISD as a science teacher and coach at Bradley Middle School.

Prior to being the principal at LEE HS, I was the principal at Tejeda Middle School from 2017-2019 and the principal at Garner Middle School from 2010-17. I have also worked at Reagan High School as their curriculum assistant principal in 2009-2010 and served as an assistant principal at Robert E. Lee High School from 2005-2009.

My educational philosophy revolves around three key areas:

      1.       Respect – a student’s respect for adults, parents, and other students is very important during the high school years.  If students respect themselves and those around them, then we, as educators, are able to provide a rich, safe, and supportive environment in which students can thrive without distraction or interruption.
      2.       Involvement – students who are “plugged in” have extrinsic motivators to excel in school.  We have something for everyone at LEE – magnet programs, sports, fine arts, extracurricular and co-curricular activities and clubs.   To me, high school is all about discovery and self-realization for students.
      3.       Curriculum – our curriculum at NEISD is second to none in the state of Texas.  Our teachers are highly qualified and will instruct your child to their fullest ability.  Our teachers are concerned about the success of your child in school and ask that you assist them by keeping on top of their progress and assignments as their parents.

As a native of San Antonio, I am dedicated to improving my school and my community. I graduated from John Marshall High School, completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and earned my master's degree from Concordia University. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in education for over 20 years.  I began teaching Reading at Connally Middle School (NISD) in 1998 before I came to North East ISD.  In 2005 I joined the staff at Krueger MS to be a Reading teacher, the Academic Dean, and then an Assistant Principal. Now, I am proud to be serving the LEE community as Assistant Principal of Curriculum.

Education is my passion as it should be for every staff member and student that walks through our front door!  LEE HS delivers a high quality education due to the passion of the staff and teachers that serve here!  However, one of the main contributors to a student's education, comes from the parent(s)/guardian(s), so we hope that you will be filled with that passion as you watch your student grow academically and socially while he or she becomes involved with a club or organization which is vital to their well-rounded education.

Here's where I attended my formal post-secondary education. I really enjoyed attending both of these fine universities and am proud of the education which I received from them.  I know your students one day will also enjoy their post-secondary plans, based off of the education they'll receive here at LEE.  Education is key!

I graduated from University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and received my Masters and Doctorate from the University of Arizona in Curriculum, Instruction and Supervision.  For 20 years of my career, I have taught secondary English and coached both boys’ and girls’ basketball before moving into administration. I am excited to be NEISD and serve as an assistant principal at LEE HS. I have been in administration for the past ten (10) years.  Kids and their education is my passion, and I will work with the community to believe and share in my passion in order to increase student success. I believe in an open-door policy in working with students and parents to celebrate victories and resolve any questions or concerns you may have. I want to work collaboratively with students, staff and parents in a conscientious effort to ensure all students have a solid foundation for success as they spend their formative years at LEE High School.
