Mrs. Faye Payne

Hello, I am a college graduate from the University of Texas Pan-American (UTPA) in Edinburg, Texas. I recieved a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies in May of 2010. I became a Texas certified teacher in 2010, receiving my certification in Social Studies Composite through the Region One-- Project P.a.C.E program in Edinburg, Texas. I've been an employee of Northeast ISD since August 2014 and currently teach 11th grade U.S. History. I have a total of 9 years teaching experience and have taught grades 8th-11th in various educational programs such as STEM, Advanced Placement, College Readiness, etc.

I have a passion for teaching and each year my goal is to be an effective teacher for my students. I strive to build personable relationships with my students and to help them reach their fullest potential in our class. The objective of our class--U.S. History-- is to learn the Texas Essentials of Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) to help students prepare for the End of Course (EOC) STAAR exam for US History in May 2021 that is required for graduation. After spending an entire school year together, students leave my class feeling relieved and accomplished because they truly learned US History (the good, bad, and progress made in the last century and a half), basic rights and social skills that can help them later in their adult life, and last but not least, they successfully passed the last STAAR exam of their high school career. This school year may feel a little different compared to previous years before since we are beginning in a virtual setting but its still going to be a great learning experience that I am so excited for!
