Ms. Kasey Korth-Piles
My name is Kasey Korth-Piles and this is my nineth year at Harris Middle School. I feel extremely blessed to have this opportunity to mentor your child in the arts. I discovered I was passionate about theatre when I was a junior in high school and participated in any way that I could. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in both History and Dramatic Media (theatre), from Texas Lutheran University and my love for theatre grew in bounds! I decided to keep studying theatre, so I attended Texas State University and earned my Master of Arts degree in Theatre History and Criticism.
Harris Drama students participate in three productions a year, including UIL One Act Play contest and two speech & debate contests. Students who take theatre will have the opportunity to audition for all productions, and become part of the backstage or house crew. There is a place for everyone in the theatre! In my time as a theatre teacher, I've seen many students grow their confidence and sense of self, even after just one year imursed in the subject. Of course, students who are not enrolled in a theatre class are always welcomed to audition and work backstage!
Together we can mentor, motivate, and inspire our kids to do their best in everything, even in trying times such as these! Let's have a great year!
