Ms. Kasey Korth-Piles
My name is Kasey Korth-Piles and this is my eighth year at Harris Middle School. I feel extremely blessed to have this opportunity to mentor your child in the arts. I discovered I was passionate about theatre when I was a junior in high school and participated in any way that I could. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in both History and Dramatic Media (theatre), from Texas Lutheran University and my love for theatre grew in bounds! I decided to keep studying theatre, so I attended Texas State University and earned my Master of Arts degree in Theatre History and Criticism.
Harris Drama students participate in three productions a year, including UIL One Act Play contest and two speech & debate contests. Students who take theatre will have the opportunity to audition for all productions, and become part of the backstage or house crew. There is a place for everyone in the theatre! In my time as a theatre teacher, I've seen many students grow their confidence and sense of self, even after just one year imursed in the subject. Of course, students who are not enrolled in a theatre class are always welcomed to audition and work backstage!
Together we can mentor, motivate, and inspire our kids to do their best in everything! Let's have a great year!
