Mrs. Diana Popovici

After growing up in San Antonio, TX, I moved to Ohio to attend Kent State University and received my Bachelor of Music in Cello Performance in 2013, studying with Keith Robinson of the Miami String Quartet. I earned my MAT in Music in 2019, also from Kent State University, and moved back to San Antonio to begin my teaching career at Lopez. After 5 years as assistant orchestra director, I am honored and thrilled to step into the head director role, and I can't wait to welcome back our new and returning students! 

Outside of school I enjoy hiking, camping, attending live music performances, and spending time with family. My husband Alex and I own two pets: a sassy chocolate bunny named Arthur who goes bonkers for bananas, and Xena, our goofy lab/shepherd mix who always keeps us laughing.
