Hello! Welcome to my home away from home! I've grown up here in San Antonio, and have taught Family & Consumer Sciences for 19 years. I am a proud product of NEISD. I was a Regency Place Knight, Bradley Bear, and graduated from MacArthur High School.  

With a Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences from Southwest Texas State University (Texas State), I began teaching at Madison High School in 1996 thru the fall of 2003, teaching Culinary Arts and Interior Design, 7 years. At that point in my career, I had the opportunity to leave teaching for a few years to work for the World's Premier Culinary College, The Culinary Institute of America, located in Hyde Park, New York. I was the Central Regional Admissions Officer recruiting for the college's Bachelor and Associate degree programs in Culinary Arts Management as well as Baking & Pastry Arts Management. I had the opportunity to travel to many high school classrooms in many states in the central United States, recruit at college fairs, exhibit at food shows, and hosted prospective student receptions.

I worked for the Culinary Institute of America for four years, but yearning to return to the classroom found my way back to the teaching profession opening Lopez Middle School in the fall of 2007. This will be my 12th year at Lopez Middle School!

I am a member of three professional organizations: FCSTAT (Family & Consumer Sciences Teachers Association of Texas), TCTA (Texas Classroom Teachers Association), and HEAT (Hospitality Educators Association of Texas).

I enjoy arts & crafts, cooking, sewing, camping, fishing, and hiking in the great outdoors as much as possible.
