Ms. Valerie Barrera
I am very proud to say that I am a product of North East ISD. I graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2003. After graduation, I attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a degree in Special Education in 2007. I began my teaching career at Garner Middle School and coached volleyball, basketball, and track. After three years at the middle school level, I decided to come "home" to LEE High School. I am the head softball coach and currently co-teaching in the History department with three wonderful teachers. Working with upper classmen impacted my teaching career in so many ways, but I am extremely excited to be back with freshman and sophomores. As they continue their VOLUNTEER journey, it is my hope that I can share with them the pride I felt when I was a student. The memories I created when I was here have shaped my life in so many ways and I am truly blessed to be able to share them with all of my students and athletes. As I enter my fourteenth year in the district, I am excited for what the year will bring and all the new memories I will create.
