As an educator, I encourage all my students to use critical thinking in all classes and to be positive role models on campus. As they search for knowledge, they will learn to find the answers to their questions and discover new and exciting things. I believe it is important to give all students the opportunity to study things that are meaningful and relevant to their lives. A curriculum that is based on their interests will help create passion and excitement for learning.
As a special education contact teacher, it is my job to see that my students are receiving the support they need to be successful in their academic classes. In order to help all students maintain success in the classroom, I monitor their grades weekly, distribute appropriate accommodations and modifications to their teachers, and encourage them to be proactive in their education. I believe that it is my responsibility to provide a secure and stimulating atmosphere in which they are able to grow mentally and socially. It is my hope that I can play a part in the maturing and development of their academic success at Robert E. Lee High School.
