What is NEISD’s hiring timeline?
Each department has its own hiring timeline for the various positions posted within that department.

How often are vacant positions posted?
New positions are posted both internally and externally every day. Check back frequently for new opportunities.

How will NEISD get in touch with me?
Hiring managers will contact candidates by email or phone. Ensure that the email address and phone number in your profile are up-to-date and accurate.

If I am applying for a Food Service/Custodian/Bus Driver/Substitute position, how do I know where I will be placed or what my schedule will be like?
Location and schedule preferences for these positions are discussed with the Hiring Manager during the interview and hiring processes. Please contact the specific department for more details.

What do I need to have in my profile to be considered for a position?
While different positions have different requirements, all applications should include a resume/CV or previous employment history and at least two professional references. You can add this information to the “Talent Profile” section of your candidate profile.

Where/when do I send my transcripts?
Transcripts will be requested during the hiring process and candidates will be provided with an address to send them to at that time.

How often are vacant positions posted?

Is there a generic posting/application that I can apply to if I am not sure which posting to apply for?
NEISD job postings are more commonly campus-specific, except for custodians, food service assistants, bus drivers, and substitute teachers. Generic postings are less common, but both are utilized, depending on hiring needs.

Can I apply in person?
NEISD only accepts applications through our online applicant portals. If you require assistance with the online job portal, call (210) 407-0079.

How do I know if my application has been received?
You will receive a confirmation email from our system if your application was successfully submitted. Check your spam folder if you believe you should have received an email and did not.

How many positions can I apply for?
Candidates may apply for as many positions as they feel they are qualified for.

If I complete my external candidate profile, does that mean I have applied?
Completing the “My Profile” section is step one of the application process. Once your profile is built, you will need to then select the specific job posting you would like to apply to. The application will take the information from your profile, but you will still need to follow the steps to the final submission page.

If I am a former employee, how do I know if I am eligible for rehire?
Rehire eligibility may be discussed with the appropriate HR Director. Please call (210) 407-0188 to be directed to the appropriate HR Director for the last location/campus you were employed at.

How can I get in touch with the Hiring Manager of a specific position?
Due to the large volume of applications we receive, it is not possible for us to provide the name, phone number or email address of our hiring managers. Hiring managers will review resumes/profiles and will respond only to those candidates who best match the qualifications of posted positions.
