Ms. Alejandra Alanís Sánchez

Teaching at all levels has given me a tremendous insight into presenting diverse teaching methods to language learners, & fostering team proficiency practice.  I believe having cultural and global awareness increases acceptance of diverse cultures and appreciation of another and our colorful global society. This is my 8th year teaching the High School credit here at Barbara Bush, and developing an immersive program. Being a bilingual teacher, I lead with cultural inclusion, and diversity recognition. I have been part of the NEISD curriculum writing team and am going into my 13th year of teaching, both having taught in Mexico and the US. My travels have taken me as far as La Patagonia in Argentina and all throughout Meixico lindo y querido.  My mission has been to share stories of my culture, traditions, excursions and insight into the diverse subcultures of Latin America and the Spanish-speaking world. Having studied International Business, I teach through a focal lens of inculsivity and global tolerance and acceptance. My goal is to always remind students to develop an international perspective on global and social issues. My professional background includes a B.A. in International Business, work experience in Non-Profit Grassroots, Marketing and Hispanic Advertising. Some of my favorite places of travel are Buenos Aires, Amalfi, Tepoztlán, and Marfa.  My sons are my reason for existing, and I am grateful to be able to teach and share one of the most beautiful languages in the world.

My mission is to share that language has no particular color, neither a certain way of being. Learning to embrace diversity without judgement, or a preexisting thought of whom they encounter, is to embrace beauty in the unknown and foreign to you. Making the encounter a seamless, genuine experience.
