Thank you, NEISD Paraprofessionals!

Today (Wednesday, April 3), is National Paraprofessional Appreciation Day. The paras, instructional assistants and teacher's aides at North East ISD play a crucial role in supporting our students, teachers, staff and community.

Cherry Tiongson is a shining example at Bush Middle School, where she puts relationships first working alongside Alternative Learning Environment (ALE) students, staff and families.

Stephanie Morrisey, Bush Middle School Special Education Campus Coordinator, took a moment to describe what makes Cherry an invaluable part of the Bush community.

“Mrs. Tiongson is the parent of a student who has special needs and has come through the ALE environment at Bush. She practices that same motherly love that she has for her own children on the students here at Bush. She has helped create an inclusive bulletin board outside of our classroom that helps our students engage with our ALE students. She is someone I can highly rely on to be here come rain or shine and with a positive attitude.

Cherry is by far one of the most dedicated individuals I have had the pleasure of working with. She makes a point to learn as much as she can about the 15 students she works with day in and day out. She greets each kid with a hello and good morning and sends each kiddo off with a high five or a hug. She works collaboratively with the ALE teacher in helping the students meet their potential and she challenges each of the students to grow outside of the bubble of ALE. She has an impeccable work ethic and is always here with a smile.”

Please join us in saying thank you to the paraprofessionals who work so hard and care for our students and staff #theNEISDway
