Mrs. Tamra Blankinship

Hello, and welcome to Eisenhower Middle School!

My name is Tamra Blankinship, and I am your Principles of Human Services (PHS) teacher. After teaching preschool for the past 9 years, I am excited to begin this new adventure with our 7th and 8th grade students at IKE.

I love to cook and bake. Over the past few years, I've owned and operated a cottage foods bakery business specializing in royal iced sugar cookies, drop cookies, and other desserts. That is on hold for now as I dive into full-time education, but I love to be in the kitchen as much as possible. Other hobbies I enjoy include decorating, shopping, reading (mostly listening to audio books these days), and watching movies. When life came to a halt during the pandemic, I took up sewing and puzzles. I married into an outdoorsy family who loves to fish and hunt. I'm less outdoorsy and more "covered patio with a fansy," but I do occasionally get out there and fish. 

I am married to Mark and we have 2 children, ages 14 and 12. You can often find Mark and me cheering on our kids in their various extracurricular pursuits. Our family also stays active in our church. I volunteer frequently with our children's and youth ministries and sing with our worship team. 

I can't remember a time when I wasn't working with or on behalf of children and families. Principles of Human Services hits on so many areas of both my personal and professional life experience. It's the perfect course for me, and I truly hope my students enjoy it as much as I do.
