Ms. Nancy Smith
Welcome, Generals! My name is Ms. Smith.
I am originally from the Rio Grande Valley, but my family moved to San Antonio when I was 13, and I proud graduate of NEISD.
I am excited about the 2020-2021 school year. I believe we are all life long learners and I strive to provide a safe, welcoming environment where we can learn from each other, be it remote, in-person, or a combination of the two.
I am starting my 5th year here at Ike and my 8th year in teaching. One of the best things about Eisenhower is the sense of family. I have spent my career in education thus far as a special education teacher at the middle school level, specifically focused on ELAR (English, Language Arts, and Reading). I am thrilled to have the opportunity to co-teach both 8th Grade ELAR and U.S. History this year. One of the things I've enjoyed most about teaching is being able to watch my students work through the learning process and seeing the smiles on their faces when they do well. The feeling that comes with knowing that a student is willing to take a risk when learning and then seeing the increased confidences is simply amazing and truly a blessing.
Some of my favorite things are coffee, my dogs, books, spending time outdoors, and photography.
