Frequently Asked Questions

When does the library open?

The library is open from 7:45 AM to 4 PM daily.

The library is occasionally closed for faculty meetings and campus events.

 

How many books can I checkout?

Students have access to both print and digital books. They can check out up to 3 print books and 5 ebooks at one time. 

All materials are checked out for 3 weeks. Digital books will automatically return themselves on the due date.

 

Does the Hill Library charge overdue fines?

No, however we do ask that students return books on or before the due date so that others may check out those books.

 

Where do I return my books?

You can return your books directly to the circulation desk book drop. The book drop is located directly under the sign-in station.

If you are unable to come into the library, you can place your books in the library return book drop outside the library at any time.

 

What happens if I lost or damaged a book?

It is the responsibility of the student/parent to pay for lost of damaged books. If extenuating circumstances apply, please speak with the librarian.

 

Can I print in the library?

Yes, students may print school assignments in the library using the VDI computers. However, they may not print memes or other items for personal use.

To print, students will need to log in with their NEISD credentials and navigate to the documents they need to print. Printing instructions are posted by each VDI computer. Library staff is also happy to assist with any printing issues.

Students may print in B&W only.

All printing can be picked up from the library staff at the circulation desk.
