• Dear Tex Hill Parents and Guardians:

My name is Dr. Charles Reininger, Jr. and I am proud to be serving the Tex Hill Middle School community. I was fortunate to join Tex Hill after two years as an assistant principal at Churchill High School and as assistant principal at Bush Middle School from 2008-2015.

I am San Antonio born and the eldest son of five children from Charles and Carolyn Reininger - Central Catholic and Providence graduates. I am the fortunate husband to Sandra Garza Reininger. We have two children, Nicholle and Charles III. Tennis is a large part of Sandy's world beyond her extraordinary devotion to her family. I enjoy saltwater fishing, hunting and playing golf. I came to NEISD after 17 years as a teacher, coach, counselor and administrator at the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, Texas, and one year as a middle school campus administrator in Alice. I maintain Texas educator certification in teaching, counseling, principalship, and superintendency. I earned a BA (Speech, English), a M.Ed. (Counseling) at the University of Texas Pan American, and completed doctoral studies at the University of Houston in Curriculum and Instruction.

I am an energetic, gregarious, and serious individual who believes that there is no more important vocation than actively participating in the development of our youth. I believe in the team concept and in being collaborative, respectful and demanding. I believe in delivering a positive and caring attitude, and in implementing best practices through a “360 Degree” approach to developing our children.

I highly encourage your child to participate in their middle school experience as fully as possible. During this time of self-discovery, it is important for students to explore their talents and passions as they develop a sense of pride in their efforts and in representing Tex Hill Middle School.

I would also encourage and invite parents to actively participate in their student’s education by joining the Tex Hill PTA and keeping aware of the various opportunities for volunteering on campus. Please make use of our parent portal system to monitor your student’s grades, and contact our teachers, counselors, assistant principals or me with concerns you may have about your child.

NEISD is a meaningful part of my family, and I am especially grateful and proud to be a part of the Tex Hill Middle School family.

    Dr. Charles G. Reininger, Jr.
