And the winner is…

LEE Cinema Students hold their plaques and medals

Let’s roll out the red carpet and say congratulations to the Legacy of Educational Excellence (LEE) High School and North East School of the Arts (NESA) film students who recently competed at the UIL State Film Festival!

For the first time ever, seven LEE students represented North East ISD at the state contest. Cullen Johnston, Catalina Leal, Sierra Sampson, KJ Raimondi and Autumn Campos advanced to the quarterfinals.

KJ Raimondi went on to win big in the 6A Narrative Film category and Autumn Campos excelled in the 6A Traditional Animation category.

Only six films make it to State finals per category and LEE High School had two students make it in the top six in two separate categories.

KJ Raimondi finished 2nd place earning a State UIL silver medal and State silver UIL plaque while Autumn Campos finished 4th place earning a State UIL finalist plaque.

“I am so proud of my students,” said film teacher Richeler Aladin. “They have worked so hard since last semester and they continue to raise the bar for themselves to reach for the stars. Day by day they start to believe in themselves more and more! I can’t wait to see how much my students grow from this experience.”

Help us in saying congratulations #theNEISDway! Learn more about the 2024 State UIL Film Contest.
