Why it matters – The events in 1835 & 1836 eventually led to Texas becoming the Republic of TX. The students should have finished filling in their research packets on 12/16. We will be working on the posters in class through 12/19. The students have Mon. - Thurs. to complete the poster.  It is due Thursday.  If you are leaving for the holiday break early, you need to turn your poster in before you leave

Writing is a skill that the students will need to use the rest of their lives.  HW -  Today we went over all the answers to the DBQ Documents, went over the outline/rubric, and began working on the rough draft.  The students will also have class time on Monday to work on the rough draft of their paper.  The rough draft must be in their own handwriting.  The typed paper is due on October 7.

    9/11 - We discussed 9/11 today in class. We also completed an open book quiz over Ch. 5, Sec. 2 (Spanish explorers). No HW 

    9/10 - The students will be able to identify on a map the areas of TX that were explored and settled and understand the leadership skills necessary for a successful expedition by completing the Mapping the TX Coast WKS and filling in the outline. Why it matters – Spanish explorers did not find the riches they sought, but their search brought them to NA and Texas. HW - Finish the Mapping the TX Coast WKS if you did not complete it in class.
