Mrs. Dorina (Dede) G. Ruiz

I am a native San Antonian who was educated in the NEISD.  I graduated from Churchill High School in ‘86.  I attended college at UTSA and graduated with a Bachelor's in Interior Design.  My post-college work career included time with a local architectural firm and owning a teacher supply store.  My past work experience plus raising four children inspired my interest in pursuing a teaching career.  My first assignment was teaching at a charter school in San Antonio.  From there, I accepted an opportunity in the Comal ISD at Spring Branch Middle School where my children attended. I returned to NEISD, this time in a teaching role in 2018. 

My love of art dates back to grade school trips to local museums.   As a result, I remember spending time outdoors with pencil and paper trying to draw my surroundings. Upon further exploration, I uncovered the world of oil pastels, acrylic, the art of sculpting, and various other media.  I am so grateful for the opportunity to share my love of art with inspiring young minds.
