Mr. Barbosa is a graduate of Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State, and is in his 22nd year as a professional educator.  He has enjoyed teaching and coaching in the Lopez Community since 2007.  He enjoyed 13 years of coaching football, basketball and track in NEISD, leading multiple teams and individuals to district championships. He was the Physical Education and Health Department Chair at Lopez MS and a member of the Campus Leadership Team for 7 years, during which time Lopez MS was named a TMSA School to Watch.  He has led FCA Huddle groups at Garner MS and Lopez MS, initiating the clubs at both schools.  He is also currently the Pastor of Community Baptist Church in San Marcos, TX.  Mr. Barbosa thoroughly enjoys teaching math and helping students understand and manipulate mathematical relationships.
