The History of Tom Jones

“The History of Tom Jones”, often known simply as “Tom Jones”, was originally a famous English novel by Henry Fielding written in 1749. Over the years it has been adapted into multiple films and TV series and eventually the dramatized version you see here. Tom Jones, the character, is perhaps the most famous foundling in literary history and it is his farcical adventures as he seeks his true love Sophia along with the origin of his birth that makes the play such an energetic joy. All the classic tropes of farce are here—mistaken identities, slamming doors, hidden motives, bawdy but family friendly humor, and a wealth of original characters. Don’t miss this great show!!!
