Ms. Carolyn Starkweather

Greetings!  I have been teaching at the middle school level for 22 years! I have taught English and/or Reading for most of those years, along with a variety of elective courses.  This year I will be teaching AIM, W.I.N., Journalism I, and Debate I, II, & III.

In my spare time, I like to read, work puzzles and do family games.   Often times, on sports you will find me taking care of the entrance area to gym.   

When I was growing up, I spent the first half of my childhood living in San Jose, California.   Then one day, one parents decided they weren't happy living in the city, so they moved us to a small farm in northern Minnesota (brrrr!), where I learned about taking care of a wide variety of animals and growing crops.  I moved to Texas in my early adulthood and except for a few years in graduate school in Indiana, have lived here ever since. 

When I have the time and money, I like traveling by train.   

I am looking forward to a productive and fun school year!
