Degrees and Certifications:

Masters degree in Education.

Michelle MacKay

I am entering my ninth year at Lopez HS as a Physical Education teacher and coach.  Prior to Lopez I was Head Softball and freshman volleyball coach at Reagan HS.

Prior to Reagan, I was at Lee HS for two years.

Before entering the high school coaching ranks, I was the head softball coach at the University of the Incarnate Word for six years.

I grew up as an athlete. At Mandeville HS in Louisiana, I played soccer and volleyball in addition to my first love, softball. From there, I moved on to the University of Southern Mississippi where I played varsity softball for four years and club soccer for five. I earned my bachelor's degree in Physical Education in 1992.

I then went to Northwestern State University in Louisiana and earned a Master's Degree in Education with an emphasis in coaching and Sports Administration.

Currently, I enjoy working out and being active.  In May 2015, I competed my first full ironman.  I also enjoy spending time with my family including my two boys, Devin and Brett.
