I am incredibly grateful as I embark on my 12th year in education. This journey has been nothing short of amazing, as I have always aspired to be a teacher. Stepping into Eisenhower, I am reminded of the days when I worked as a substitute teacher here. I often find myself wishing for my very own classroom on this campus! It's truly remarkable to see that I am now living my dreams. Sharing my days with these wonderful students has brought some of the most fulfilling moments into my life. It's a joyful experience to see them explore and learn, sometimes allowing us to rediscover the sense of wonder we had as children ourselves. Remember, we should always keep reaching for the stars!

I am a proud Uvalde Alumni and a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio, where I cheered and earned my degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.

My husband, Alan Hughes, is also a part of the NEISD community as an employee at Roosevelt High School. He's an NEISD Alumni, a Churchill State Soccer Champion, and a graduate of Texas State University. Prior to joining NEISD, he worked in Uvalde in 2013, where we met. We are excited that our children are attending NEISD schools and following in his footsteps. Our eldest daughter, Ysabella Cecilia, is now a proud Churchill Charger! Go Chargers! Yliz Adelina is joining me at IKE – Go Generals!! Our youngest, Charles Santiago, is about to turn 7 and is a 1st grader at Castle Hills Elementary.Go Roadrunners! David Leonel is thriving at PreK4SA! Our family holds a deep love for NEISD, and we are eagerly looking forward to an exceptional new academic year – 2023-2024!

  • Tuesday afternoons: 3:50-4:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday mornings: 7:50-8:15 a.m.

    Tuesday & Thursday

    I-Ready lessons can be done at home and on campus, on computers. Students can sign into NEISD launchpad on any computer and can work on i-Ready lessons to improve reading levels
