I am a proud graduate of NEISD schools.  I attended Regency Place Elementary, Garner Middle School, and graduated from MacArthur High School.  While a student at Mac, I was a member of the Swim Team, Orchestra, Student Council, National Honor Society, and Latin Club.  I am thrilled to be teaching in NEISD and at Garner, the middle school that I attended. 

I graduated from Baylor University in 2000 with degrees in Violin Performance and English.  In 2005, I graduated with my Master of Arts in Reading from St. Mary's University.  Besides certifications in Music and English, I am also certified as a reading specialist and a master reading teacher. 

I began teaching seventh grade English at Garner in 2003.  I taught seventh grade English for twelve years, taught sixth grade English for four and a half years, and now teach sixth, seventh and eighth grade Gifted and Talented English/Reading classes and Debate. This school year is my eighteenth year of teaching at Garner.  

My husband and I are the proud parents of three children. Our family also includes our 2 dogs, Dublin and Ben. Dublin is an Irish setter and Ben is a black Labrador retriever.  During the summer and on weekends, you will find me exploring and going on adventures in San Antonio and South Texas with my children.  This summer we enjoyed exploring different swimming holes at state parks and areas around South Texas. I also enjoy traveling with my husband and children, baking, listening to music, and reading as well as running, biking, and swimming.
