Mrs. Young earned her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2008.  She will currently be serving as a 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher.  Mrs. Young previously served as the Director of Bands at Garner Middle School from 2015-2022 and was an Assistant Director of Bands at Harris Middle School from 2008-2015.  Bands under her leadership earned Superior Ratings at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest, Outstanding Performance Awards  from TLU Music Festival, and a Best in Class Award from DC Festival.  As an active life-long learner, Mrs. Young earned her Secondary Social Studies 7-12 Certification in 2021. This is Mrs. Young's eighth year as a teacher at Garner Middle School and 15th overall.  She is looking forward to guiding her students through the wonderful world of Texas and US History.
