Ms. Toni Rocheleau
I am a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where I dedicated my time to being a student athlete, playing volleyball for four years. After graduating, I found a world of teaching experiences in middle school English, mathematics, physical education, art, and athletics in Comal ISD, Katy ISD, and now North East ISD. These opportunities helped me develop a broader understanding for all subjects in school, not just one, so I can appreciate the expectations of students’ course loads. These experiences in my professional career come in handy when teaching AVID because I am well versed in many subject areas. I am looking forward to the challenges and triumphs from this determined group of students.
Along with being the AVID teacher, I also coach Garner girls volleyball and basketball teams. Being a sports enthusiast, I love playing, learning, and coaching every sport. This year I am looking forward to seeing the new talent here at Garner Middle School.
I became a teacher to help students grow to reach their full potential. If there is one thing I want them to learn from me throughout the year, it is summed up in this quote from the great Vince Lombardi: “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack in knowledge, but rather a lack in will.” My passion is to help students and athletes cultivate their true will power, and teach them how to use it.
