It’s December 1st, and that means the application window for ‘School Choice’ in the 2024 – 2025 school year is officially open.
Under School Choice, a parent or guardian can request that their child be transferred to a school outside of the one serving their residence. Please keep in mind approvals are contingent upon space availability at each campus or grade level. Applications for Kindergarten through 12th grade are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you’d like to learn more about the School Choice opportunities in our District, visit the link below (neisd.net/schoolchoice). Here, you’ll find Frequently Asked Questions, guidelines, a list of NEISD schools and the application.
You have from today until July 26, 2024, to submit your application online.
Once an application is submitted, it will be processed by our Pupil Personnel Department. You should expect receive electronic communication on the status of your application in April or May. If your School Choice application is successful, please keep in mind that transportation to your new home campus is not provided by NEISD.
We’re also a little over two months away from our magnet application deadline. If you’re still weighing your options, there are still a few more Magnet Night Informational Sessions you and your family can attend to learn more about our many offerings at the middle and high school level. You can view those dates and times at the link on your screen (neisd.net/magnetprograms).
Don’t forget, the deadline to turn in your magnet application is Monday, February 5, 2024.

Ya es 1o de diciembre, y eso significa que el periodo de solicitud para ‘School Choice’ en el año escolar 2024 – 2025 está oficialmente abierto.
Con la opción de ‘School Choice’, un padre o tutor puede solicitar que su hijo sea transferido a una escuela fuera de la presta servicio a su área de residencia. Tenga en cuenta que las aprobaciones dependen de la disponibilidad de espacio en cada campus o nivel de grado. Las solicitudes de Kindergarten a 12 .º grado se procesan por orden de llegada.

Tiene desde el día de hoy, y hasta el 26 de julio de 2024 para enviar su solicitud en línea.
Una vez que se envía una solicitud, será procesada por nuestro Departamento de Personal Estudiantil. Debería recibir una comunicación electrónica sobre el estado de su solicitud en abril o mayo.
