Our Superintendent

Anthony Jarrett was appointed Superintendent of North East ISD by the Board of Trustees in June 2026 after serving as Interim Superintendent and Chief Instructional Officer. 

“Thank you, for entrusting me with this opportunity. I want to thank the families in our community for allowing us to serve their children,” said Jarrett. “Change is inevitable, but if we all pull in the same direction and we all stay grounded into our ‘why’ and our purpose, I really believe our schools will excel.”

Mr. Jarrett brings more than 25 years of experience in public education and service-driven leadership to his new role. Before joining North East ISD in 2019, he served as a classroom teacher and campus administrator in nearby Northside ISD, dedicating his career to creating opportunities for students, supporting educators and strengthening partnerships with families.

Jarrett moved to Texas as a teenager and found a calling to education. One experience that continues to shape his leadership style is one of his first jobs in college. He worked as a custodian at City Hall in Chicago — an experience that reinforced a lesson he still carries today: every role matters, leadership begins with service and every person deserves respect.

As a father and lifelong educator, Mr. Jarrett believes schools are strongest when families, educators and the community work together. 

His deep understanding of our District's strategic priorities and commitment to continuous improvement provide a strong foundation for the future of NEISD.
