Fort Sam Houston’s 106th Signal Brigade has been a long-time partner with Wilshire Elementary School. As part of this, Captain Benjamin Richards has shown tremendous leadership. In light of our current circumstances, he has worked diligently to continue the active partnership with the Wilshire community. Every month, he organizes members of his troop for "Spotlight a Soldier." During this event, one soldier "Zooms" in with each class at Wilshire. The soldiers talk about a variety of topics, such as going to college, careers, living a healthy lifestyle, goal setting, showing kindness, and more. The students look forward to connecting with a soldier every month and hearing the positive messages. Captain Richards has committed many hours to organizing these zooms and the soldiers serve as amazing role models.
