Delivering instruction over the past year has had to get creative, but it’s also opened doors to new opportunities. We are recognizing these American Sign Language students from MacArthur High School, who taught sign language to elementary and middle school students in the District’sl KIN program. The 7-week program was provided over Zoom to an amazing response from the after-school students. This is the first time the classes were provided, and the students were very excited to learn. Not only did the MacArthur students give the classes, they spent time each week preparing the lessons. This commitment surpassed any requirement of service hours placed on them. It was an incredible volunteer effort that provided a valuable service.
