Over the holiday break, MacArthur High School lost electricity to their athletic facility. Coach Hirst from MacArthur had to think fast and look at ways to make sure scheduled activities and practices would not be affected. The coaches and principal at Garner Middle School didn’t hesitate to answer the call and opened their campus for the MacArthur athletes and coaches. They hosted a large wrestling tournament and basketball practices, as well as basketball games. Scheduled athletic events are difficult to postpone to later dates. Being able to hold these games and practices at Garner allowed the District to keep athletes and coaches on schedule. A lot of last-minute changes had to be made and we thank you for making the best out of a challenging situation.
