In her 8 years as a custodian at East Terrell Hills Elementary, Shorn has made it a priority to build strong relationships with students, families and staff. This school year, she noticed that students sometimes arrive earlier than the assistant’s morning duty schedule - and she took it upon herself to supervise, and greet students whenever that happens. She has earned the respect of the school community through her genuine interactions and personal integrity. Her willingness to go above and beyond her essential responsibilities helps promote a positive, safe, and welcoming environment.
