Mr. Michael Callahan
I graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from UT in 2008. After a few years working for a consumer research firm, I went back to obtain my Teaching Certification from UTSA in 2010. I taught high school social studies in Northside ISD for three years before moving to NEISD where I am entering my ninth year here at Krueger and my 6th in the KSAT program.
In the past, I have taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Social Studies as well as Reading at Krueger. While a major focus of the class will be to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to earn "Masters" on the STAAR test at the end of the year, I believe that it is equally important that I foster an ability in my students to think critically about current and historical events.
I have two daughters who are current NEISD students and another who recently graduated from the AMP Magnet at Madison, so I am able to see issues from both the teacher and parent perspective.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you might have.
