It’s Rodeo Day at North East ISD.
The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is celebrating 75 years of memories and milestones this year. While this may be a fun tradition for you and your family – it’s also a landmark event for our Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP) students.
Many Madison High School students in the AMP program have been busy showing their animals – from steers to goats, lambs, rabbits, chickens and more. Months of hard work have been leading up to this moment. They spent long hours over holidays, weekends, and hot summer months to make sure their animals were well taken care of.
Now, that hard work is paying off in the form of scholarships. To date, the San Antonio Livestock Exposition (SALE) has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to graduating seniors of the James Madison FFA. Rodeo Day is one way we recognize the strong partnership between SALE and NEISD.
Next week is National FFA Week and February is Career and Technical Education Month. I’m so grateful for the teachers who spend countless hours helping our students discover their passions and make the most of every opportunity that comes their way.

Es el Día del Rodeo en North East ISD.
El San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo celebra 75 años de recuerdos e hitos este año. Si bien esta puede ser una tradición divertida para usted y su familia, también es un evento histórico para nuestros estudiantes del Programa Magnet Agriscience (AMP).
Muchos estudiantes de Madison High School en el programa AMP han estado ocupados mostrando sus animales, desde novillos hasta cabras, corderos, conejos, pollos y más. Meses de arduo trabajo han llevado a este momento. Pasaban largas horas durante las vacaciones, los fines de semana y los calurosos meses de verano para asegurarse de que sus animales estuvieran bien cuidados.
Ahora, ese trabajo duro está dando sus frutos en forma de becas. Hasta la fecha, la Exposición de Ganadería de San Antonio (SALE) ha otorgado más de $ 1 millón en becas a estudiantes de último año que se gradúan de la James Madison FFA. El Día del Rodeo es una de las formas en que reconocemos la sólida asociación entre SALE y NEISD.
La próxima semana es la Semana Nacional de la FFA y febrero es el Mes de la Educación Profesional y Técnica. Estoy muy agradecido por los maestros que dedican incontables horas a ayudar a nuestros estudiantes a descubrir sus pasiones y aprovechar al máximo cada oportunidad que se les presenta.
