This group of teachers worked with a special group of UTSA students for a year-long student teaching experience at Colonial Hills Elementary School. Five teacher candidates are graduating this month, and will be ready to accept teaching positions. Having bilingual teacher candidates is a benefit to NEISD because it is such a high need area. These teachers helped give the students guidance, advice and mentorship. They helped with daily discussions, planning, meetings and reports. It wasn’t required of them, but they attended extra meetings and spent extra time supporting and giving feedback to champion our next generation of teachers.
