Elena Ortiz

Elena is a dedicated parent volunteer at the Pre-K Academy at West Avenue. She volunteers every day in different areas of the school. She has attended multiple parent meetings, trainings and classroom activities. She is the current PTA president and also volunteers twice a day as a crossing guard. She has shown true leadership, suggesting ways to make the school community safer, and offering support in numerous ways, including hosting a family dance, helping with picture day and field trips, improving the outdoor learning areas, and donating refreshments for teachers to show her thanks for all they do. With her involvement, more parents are volunteering, and the teachers feel appreciated.
