Dr. Ron Kelley

Dr. Kelley with Dr. Maika

Dr. Ron Kelley attended Montgomery Elementary School, Ed White Middle School and Roosevelt High School growing up. He became a leader at NEISD and is now paying it back to the District that raised him.  As a former teacher and principal, he knows the need for positive influences. Dr. Kelley launched his own non-profit called the National Mentoring Foundation. He chose to start with the schools he grew up attending. His focus is working with African American males, and he meets with fifth-, sixth- and ninth-graders at all three campuses at least once a month. This one-on-one time allows them to cover a variety of topics – including leadership skills, how to give a proper handshake and dress for success, key communication skills and more. Dr. Kelley could have launched his mentoring program anywhere, but he decided to do it right here at NEISD. His compassion, positive attitude and upbeat demeanor gives our students someone to aspire to be.
