Cathleen is an amazing tutor at Wetmore Elementary School. She plans math and reading lessons for small group intervention. And when she knows the school is in serious need of a substitute, she tries to fill those requests as well. In addition to tutoring and subbing, she also volunteers her time to help prepare the grade level for upcoming activities or engaging lessons. Always going the extra mile, she uses her own personal time to prepare for student book clubs. She has developed such a meaningful relationship with the students that they often cheer when they see her in the hallways or run to her for a hug. From making them feel special to checking in on them after they’ve been out sick, she demonstrates daily what it means to be a caring educator.
