It’s great when teachers band together to help other teachers, especially when they don’t even work at the same campus. When the Las Lomas Elementary School music teacher had to take a leave of absence, the school thought they had to cancel the holiday choir performance. It’s an annual favorite for the whole school community. Christian and Audrey De La Cruz have a child at Las Lomas, but they are also two very dedicated choir teachers. Audrey works at Bush Middle School, while Christian works at Reagan High School. They both volunteered to step in and help direct the show so that the students could still perform. Keep in mind, they still had their full-time jobs. But after two years of not being able to enjoy the Las Lomas tradition of the holiday choir performance, it would have been a huge disappointment to not be able to enjoy it this year. Because of Audrey’s and Christian’s help with practices, sound checks and set up, the show was able to go on with great success.
