Sarah is the Assistant Principal at Harris Middle School. Thanks to her innovative thinking, the "Student Support Referral" was created as a way for teachers and staff to send concerns about a student to administrators and counselors that were non-discipline related. This system allowed them to quickly identify students who may need additional support and get that information to the appropriate people who could help. Administrators have been able to reach out and intervene sooner, as well as connect all of the information that staff members are seeing to look holistically at the student. Sarah has always had a focus on student support. This is an extension of what she does each day, but the system she created extends to other departments and resources to better connect with students and their families.
