Northern Hills ES Athletic Addition and Renovations Project
The 2015 Bond Program includes funding for upgrades to the Northern Hills Elementary School campus athletic facility. The 2015 Bond will provide for construction of the following program elements: (1) construct a covered pavilion (8,200 sq. ft.) over the outdoor play area adjacent to the gymnasium; (2) replace the existing asphalt play area with a concrete foundation/surface; (3) install a concrete drainage channel with safety handrail along the lower edge of the outdoor play area; (4) install new basketball goals for the outdoor play area; (5) replace side-court basketball goals and install 2 additional basketball goals at the gymnasium; (6) repaint gymnasium; (7) install LED lighting at the gymnasium; (8) install new HVAC mini-split system at the gymnasium coaches’ office; (9) renovate gymnasium restrooms to comply with TAS/ADA standards; (10) construct a small storage building (15 ft. x 17 ft.) adjacent to the outdoor play area for athletic equipment storage; and (11) install new District-furnished sound system in the gymnasium and at the outdoor play area. Use of the District’s Job Order Contract (JOC) is proposed as the bid/construction delivery method for this project.

1 The Bond Planning Estimate represents the original bond program costs developed during the bond planning meetings for each project and includes: Design Fees, Construction Costs, Technology Equipment and Installation, Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment and Construction Management Costs. The School Board "approved" construction budget can be found in the project Bid Award Agenda Item and represents any/all changes to the project resulting from the design development process and/or construction marketplace and inflation costs.
