Jackson Middle School 2015 Bond Perspective

The 2015 Bond Program included funding to continue the implementation of the Jackson Middle School Campus Replacement Master Redevelopment Plan by providing new facilities for the campus. The design provided for construction of the following program elements: (1) new 2-story classroom addition to serve 7th and 8th grade programs; (2) relocation/reconstruction of the football field with irrigation & drainage systems; (3) new all-weather surface track; (4) new field house with restrooms and storage; (5) new outdoor basketball courts; (6) tennis courts replacement; (7) relocation/reconstruction of the rear fire lane; (8) new campus parking area adjacent to the sports fields; (9) new central plant with air-cooled chillers, boilers, and associated pumps; and (10) site infrastructure improvements (landscaping, irrigation, drainage, site utilities, and hardscape) to complement the new facility addition. The overall design program for this project consisted of 62,825 sq. ft. of new facility additions, comprising the 2-story classroom addition, field house, and central plant. The project is organized in two bid packages: Bid Package 1 – Site Improvements/Infrastructure; and Bid Package 2 – New Classroom Addition Facility.

1 The Bond Planning Estimate represents the original bond program costs developed during the bond planning meetings for each project and includes: Design Fees, Construction Costs, Technology Equipment and Installation, Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment and Construction Management Costs. The School Board "approved" construction budget can be found in the project Bid Award Agenda Item and represents any/all changes to the project resulting from the design development process and/or construction marketplace and inflation costs.
