Ms. Brandeis Davila Stubbins

This will be my sixteenth year as an educator; in the past I have taught US History and Math.  I sponsor our Outdoor Garden and Chicken Crew Club and am the Community Service aid for 6th grade (remind our students of their hours).

My focus is on creating an engaging classroom that provides opportunities for student success. I want our students to have a rewarding year and a positive 6th grade experience.

This year in World Cultures, we will be expanding our knowledge by studying about people, places, and societies of the contemporary world. Students will begin by reviewing geography skills and terminology. Students will examine the impact that humans have had on our planet.  Students will answer the questions: "How do we adapt to our environment?  How have we modified our environment?" Students will discuss the influence of individuals and groups on historical and contemporary events.  Students will identify and explain the various ways of organizing economic and governmental systems. Students will compare and debate the concepts of limited and unlimited government as well as the nature of citizenship in various societies. Students will explore the various cultures and institutions in our world. Finally, students will explain how the level of technology affects the development of the various societies and identify different points of view about events.

I encourage our students to ask questions and seek out help as needed.  Families, if you have any questions, concerns, or needs, please do not hesitate to contact me. My email is bdavil@neisd.net.

I look forward to working with our students and being a part of their academic journey!
