About me ...
San Antonio has been my home since birth. I attended Northside ISD schools from elementary through high school, graduating from Taft HS in 1996 (go Raiders!). High school is where I first thought about becoming a teacher, thanks to a few incredible ones I had. From there, I went to the University of Texas at San Antonio (go Roadrunners!), graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
I worked nine years in the legal field before making the switch to education. For my first nine years of teaching, I worked at Southwest High School (Southwest ISD), where I taught a variety of ESL courses in addition to freshman and sophomore English. The 2017-18 school year brought me to NEISD, where I started at MacArthur HS. The following year, DATA at Ed White scooped me up as the 8th grade English Language Arts and Reading teacher ... and so begins my third year here at DATA!
My husband Jaime (that's pronounced "HI-MEH") graduated from Churchill HS, class of '91. We have three fabulous children - Thalia, Adan, and Marco, and life with them is beautifully hectic. Wouldn't have it any other way. :)
