Dr. Warren Koepp
I joined the faculty at Ed White Middle School as the Mathematics Instructional Coach in March of 2022, near the end of my 3rd year at Highlands High School in SAISD. I am currently the 8th grade Algebra 1 and HAM Geometry teacher on the DATA magnet campus.
At the secondary level over the last 7 years I've taught most of the math courses from 8th grade through AP Calculus. Much of my professional time prior to that was spent as a university professor in Mathematics and Math Education, focused mostly on the mathematical preparation of K-12 preservice teachers, and on developing and providing ongoing professional development to those teachers already in the classroom. I took 5 years away from higher education to serve as a Mathematics Professional Development Consultant at Region 18 Education Service Center in Midland, Texas.
Outside of professional life I've been married to Kelly Koepp (who is a Special Education teacher) for over 37 years. We are active members of Lions Clubs International through the Windcrest Lions Club, where we volunteer our time in a variety of community service activities. We've been members of a clown alley, and I've learned to juggle and to ride a unicycle (although not at the same time). Most of my earlier years were spent growing up as the child of a National Park Ranger, living in beautiful places that most people only ever get to visit.
I believe in the power of education to change lives, and it has been my privilege to guide people of all ages to achieve their educational goals and improve their life options over the course of my entire professional career.
