I have 26 years of teaching experience. This will be my 11th year with NEISD. I taught 16 years in Corpus Christi, TX. I have taught 9 years in 1st grade, 2 years in 2nd grade, 1 year in 3rd grade, 5 years in 4th grade, and 9 years in 5th grade. I have been at Cibolo Green Elementary since it opened. I love the community and the students!
Education and why I became a teacher
I received a BBA in Finance at Texas A&M University in College Station. After working a few years, I decided that finance was not my true calling. I have always felt I had a gift and desire for teaching others and truly enjoy seeing people learn. I attended Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi to become a certified Elementary Teacher with an emphasis in math. I enjoy teaching all subjects.
My family and I moved here in 2009. My husband has recently retired. My daughter, Donna, graduated from Johnson High School. Donna was involved mostly in dance, theater, and Young Life. She is a senior at Texas A&M University this year studying Human Resources. Whoop! I have 2 older step-children who live in other cities. The oldest, Cliff Pennington Jr., has just finished an 11 year career as a major league baseball player. He lives with his wife and 3 children in The Woodlands. He has recently joined the Texas A&M Baseball staff as a student assistant coach. Nicole lives in Corpus Christi and also has 3 young children.
