Mrs. Elise Hakes

Hello!! As a third-year kindergarten teacher, I've seen firsthand the incredible growth and curiosity that young minds bring to the classroom. I'm looking forward to another great year!!

I am originally from Tyler, Texas, and moved to San Antonio 16 years ago. My husband David and I have 5 kids who attend schools in the Johnson cluster. We love spending time together!! In my free time, you will find me at various sporting and school events supporting my kiddos. I love watching them progress and develop as individuals. 

I believe in cultivating a fun, engaging classroom where my students feel safe and confident. I believe in working hard each day, learning from each other, and growing as both a person and a student! Teaching and loving with my whole heart each day is what I do best. I love a shared learning space where we can grow together as a class family.  This year we will learn to see the goodness in ourselves and appreciate what everyone can contribute.
