School meals are available at no charge for all children age 18 and under for the 2020 - 2021 school year.
Temporary funding for free school meals has been approved through the United States Department of Agriculture. A la carte items are also available for purchase.
The cafeteria offers a prepayment plan in all schools. A la carte items may be purchased with this plan. Any amount may be deposited into the student's account and the balance is reduced each time an item is purchased. Payments can be made by cash or check at the school cafeteria or by credit card online. A $100 deposit limit and a small convenience fee applies for credit card transactions.
Your child may be eligible to continue receiving free or reduced-price meals at school. To make sure your student will still receive free or reduced price meals after the temporary special funding ends, you need to fill out an application. But approval for the program is much more than free meals because eligible familes can receive other benefits including:
-Reduced registration fees for AP tests.
-Free or discounted pay to participate sport fees.
-Discounted rates on fees associated with applying to college
-Discounts for internet access services.
You can apply online at https://www.neisd.net/Page/295.
If you have any questions during the school year, please contact your cafeteria manager.
