I have served as MacArthur principal since May 2020. Prior to arriving at Mac, I was the principal at Wood MS. Before arriving at NEISD, I served several charter schools and school districts in various administrative capacities both in San Antonio and Los Angeles, CA.

Hello, I am JennyLee Taylor, the Curriculum and Instruction Assistant Principal at MacArthur High School. This will be my eighth year with North East ISD. I have served as an English teacher, an Instructional Dean, and an Assistant Principal at Roosevelt High School; this will be my first year at MacArthur High School. I am also a proud parent of an NEISD graduate. I moved to Texas from Phoenix, Arizona, where I taught English for Mesa Public Schools. I earned my undergraduate degrees from The State University of New York College at Buffalo, my master’s degree from The University of Phoenix, and my Principal certification from Lamar University.

This year, I will be working with the English and ESL Departments, Choir, Instructional Deans, and Counseling Departments. Collaborating with our instructional and administrative leadership teams, I will work diligently toward providing  a successful academic experience for all students in a safe learning environment. Furthermore, I will continue to implement an approach of partnering with parents and community stakeholders in this endeavor.

Hello, I am Michelle Lee Smiley, an assistant principal at MacArthur for the 2023-24 school year. This is my 8th year in education with experience teaching ESL and ELA at the high school level, two years of administration at the middle school level, and my second year at MacArthur. I am originally from Edcouch-Elsa, in the Rio Grande Valley. I am a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Spanish. I continued my education, graduated with an MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University, and received my Principal Certification and Superintendent Certification training from Lamar University. I love teaching and am a lifelong learner currently working on my Ed. D. through Walden University.

Some of my responsibilities include working with our illustrious 9th grade 5 Star Academy teachers and our award-winning theater and cheer team. My goals are to help our teachers prepare our students for their futures by providing the tools, habits, and mindset they need to succeed in their post-secondary education and careers. Our goal this year at the 9th grade 5 Star Academy is to create good habits that will carry our students through their four years of secondary education and beyond. This is my second year on this campus, and I am a proud member of the MacArthur family. Go Brahmas!

Hello, I am Christopher Gloege (pronounced Glow-guh), MacArthur’s newest Assistant Principal. While I am very excited to step into this new position, I am not new to the MacArthur community. In addition to being a Mac alumnus (proud member of the class of 1992 and a student of the original campus), I have also taught, sponsored, and coached at Mac since 2009. Overall, this is my twenty-first year with North East ISD. In my time at Mac, I have primarily taught U.S. History and AP U.S. History along with Economics and most recently, AP Macroeconomics. I earned my undergraduate degree from Trinity University and my master’s degree and Principal certification from Lamar University. 

My wife, Amy, teaches third grade in the cluster at Northwood Elementary School and is a proud Unicorn and an amazing teacher. We met at Trinity and have been married for over 25 wonderful years. Our son attended Northwood, KSAT, and then Garner, and is now a freshman at MacArthur which means that we are also proud Brahma parents and avid supporters of the Orchestra and Soccer programs. Go Brahmas! As I transition from the classroom to this new phase of my career, I am so pleased that I will be able to continue serving the MacArthur community. While I love teaching in the classroom, I look forward to the new challenges and growth opportunities this position presents and am so glad I will be able to continue to proudly say, WE ARE MAC!

My name is Edward Lozano and I am your newly assigned Assistant Principal here at MacArthur High School. I am married to my beautiful wife, Tina, who is an Administrator in the district as well. We have six children ranging in ages from 25-35. As a leader on our campus, I will bring a focus to honesty, integrity, and most of all hard work.

During my coaching and educational career I have taught, coached, and been an administrator in several different districts and at both of the secondary levels. I have worked in Garland ISD, Edgewood ISD, and finally North East ISD where I have been for the last 18 years. In my years with NEISD, I have taught, coached, and been an administrator at Jackson Middle School, Eisenhower Middle School, Tex Hill Middle School, and L.E.E. High School.

In education, an educator must examine each student individually and identify the student’s strengths and weaknesses. Getting down to the basics is one way that teachers are able to get through to students and build a strong academic foundation. As a leader on our campus, I work with teachers to guide them to find and understand their student’s strengths and encourage them to reach new heights in developing their skills. Bertice Berry, PhD. says, “The student with the biggest attitude is the student with the biggest insecurity.” I understand that teachers have many different obligations and duties and I make it a point to assist the teachers in finding ways to help the students work through those insecurities as learners and members of the campus community. It is all about the students… EVERY STUDENT, EVERYDAY!

Hello, my name is Daniel Moczygemba, and I am the most experienced assistant principal at MacArthur for the 2023-2024 school year.  This is my 34^th year in education with experience teaching Physical Science, Environmental Science, and Chemistry and 26 years of administration at the high school level.  I was born on the southeast side of San Antonio; however, my parents moved us to a small farm just north of LaVernia prior to me attending 5^th grade.  I am a proud graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences.  I continued my education at Texas A&M and graduated with a Master of Science degree and a Secondary Science Composite Certification to teach high school and middle school sciences.  While teaching at John Jay High School, I continued my education yet again, graduated with a Master of Education in School Administration, and received my Mid-Management Administrator Certification.

Some of my responsibilities include working with our Magnet Program students at MacArthur High School to include Mac Up, Dual Language, AVID, and iCSI.  I also work with our Science teachers.  My objectives are to prepare our students to be successful in whatever they choose to do after high school.  This is my 18^th year at MacArthur High School, my son graduated from MacArthur High School, and I want to provide all students with the same opportunities and experiences my son enjoyed during his time here.
