Graduation 2023 Information

All traditional high school graduation ceremonies, with the exception of the International School of the Americas (ISA) will be held at the Alamodome, 100 Montana St, San Antonio, TX 78203. ISA will be held at Trinity University in the Laurie Auditorium.

Graduation FAQ’s

Where will all graduations be held?
All traditional high school graduation ceremonies will be held at the Alamodome located at 100 Montana, S.A. TX., 78203. The International School of the Americas (ISA) will be held at Trinity University in the Laurie Auditorium.

Where do graduates and families park?
Parking will be in parking Lots B, C and D . Give yourself time should you need to locate offsite parking.

Is there handicapped parking available?
Yes. Families who have a vehicle with a handicap sticker or hanger may enter and park in Lot A until all available spaces are utilized.

Are graduates being provided free parking? How much is parking for families?
No, graduates are not provided free parking. Due to the limited parking, it is advised that graduates ride with their family to the ceremony. The cost of parking is $10 per vehicle, paid by credit card only. No cash will be accepted.

Are the ceremonies general admission?
Yes. The seating is general admission based on first-come, first-serve basis. There will be no ticket required for entry into the Alamodome.

How many tickets will each graduate receive?
Tickets will not be issued and there is no limit on the number of family members who would like to attend.

How early should families arrive?
Families will be allowed entrance into the Alamodome 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony.

Can we bring food or drinks into the Alamodome?
No. The Alamodome does not allow any outside food or beverages to be brought into the venue. There will be minor concessions open should families wish to purchase something.

Is there a ‘Clear Bag Policy?”
Yes. The Alamodome does have a Clear Bag Policy and all bags will be checked prior to entrance into the graduation ceremony.

Can families bring in flowers, balloons, beach balls, signs, airhorns, noise makers, etc.?
No, these items will be not permitted so that all families may be able to watch their graduate walk the stage and hear their named called. Attendees will be expected to discard any prohibited items or return them to their personal vehicle prior to being granted entry. Plan accordingly if you intend to take Uber or public transportation to the venue.

Will the ceremonies be Live Streamed for family members not in attendance?
Yes. All NEISD graduations will be Live Streamed through our District's Graduation Ceremonies Website.

Can family members move towards the stage to take photos during the ceremony?
No. As a courtesy, a commercial photographer will take photos of each graduate with their diploma jacket behind the stage and then again as they receive their diploma on stage from the North East ISD Board Member. Information regarding purchasing these photos will be provided to the graduates at their respective rehearsal. In addition, the jumbotron will be projecting the ceremony so that all family members are able to view.

Are the graduates able to decorate their caps, gowns, or masks?
No. The items listed above, caps, gowns, and masks, may not be altered or customized in any way.

What is the attire for graduates?
Dress must be appropriate for the ceremonious event. Students choosing to wear heels of modest height might want to consider taking them to rehearsal to practice walking as they will be walking up steps and steep ramps to access/exit the stage and venue.

How long will the ceremony last?
You can anticipate that the ceremony itself will last approximately 2 hours.

Where will the graduates exit to meet up with the families?
Graduates will conduct an orderly recessional to the H.E.B. Plaza Level to exit the Alamodome to meet up with family members. You are encouraged to designate an exterior meeting point for your family in advance as the Alamodome workers will begin closing the venue immediately after the end of the ceremony.
