Hello Tigers! 

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year.  My name is Shanta Mikhaylov (Me-Hi-Love), and I am special education teacher at Tex Hill Middle School.  This is my first year at Tex Hill Middle, but my 15th year as a special education teacher. I graduated from Hamline University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. I followed up my degree with a teaching license in Learning Disabilities and Emotional Behavior Disorders. In 2016, I earned a master's degree in teaching with a focus on literacy.   

I am a Minnesota native, who moved to South Texas in 2021. I am glad to have made San Antonio my home because the weather is great, the food is amazing, and the southern hospitality can't be beat.

I am excited about joining Hill Middle School this school year. I will be co-teaching primarily in 6th and 7th grade. I am eager to utilize the skills I have acquired throughout my teaching career to accelerate the academic achievement of all learners.
